Connect December 2018

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to our Christmas issue of Connect… the buzz has begun in earnest and festive cheer is creeping in, meeting up with old friends for Christmas fun, it’s a lovely time of year. We chat with Lucy Kennedy this month and Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher tells us how her year has been so far. We have lots of pictures from our Annual Ladies Lunch
Fashion and Beauty Afternoon. Thanks to all who came on the day and to the many businesses who supported with our amazing spot prizes. It was a wonderful day full of fun and laughter and Blennerville National School benefited from the raffle, we add this to the pot for them and are looking forward to more events in 2019 to support them. Cara Buckley who is a nurse in the Bon Secours Hospital has just returned from a trip to Jamaica and we caught up to hear all about it. I guess food is an important part of the Christmas Day celebrations so we have some delicious recipes here for you, and also the healthy option for those trying to stay on track. Lots of gift ideas included this month so if you’re like me and leave everything until December don’t panic we have
something for you. We are taking a little break now to enjoy the festivities and
normality will resume in January with our next issue on the shelves Feb 5th, keep an eye on our social media for lots of Christmas giveaways to get you in the festive mood. Connect
Business will be on the shelves on Jan 16th. In the meantime get that shopping finished, shop local and keep our county moving, I would as always ask you all this year to make the effort to support our local shops instead of scrolling through online shopping, and don’t forget to say thank you to all our wonderful retailers and their staff who always do their best to look after us in our daily shopping trips. There is no extra charge for being nice!!! Christmas is not for everyone so spare a thought for those around you that may be alone or not getting the Christmas spirit as you are. Visit your elderly relatives and take some time out to sit and chat, it doesn’t have to be all about the biggest present under the tree it’s who is around the tree that matters most… we have all lost loved ones since this time last year, remember time is precious so share it with family this season and say a silent prayer for those not with us to celebrate the festive occasion that is Christmas. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to connecting you with the county in 2019
Merry Christmas from all the team here at Connect.
