Highlights
Sunday 21st September – Kerry Dairy Ireland Day and Family Day
The week opens on Sunday 21st of September with an all national hunt card sponsored by Kerry Dairy Ireland. The feature race is the Kerry Dairy Ireland Handicap Steeplechase of €45,000. It is also Garvey’s SuperValu Family Day and the new Most Fun & Fashionable Family Competition, sponsored by the Dingle Skellig Hotel and judged by Elvira Fernandez Zebo.
Monday 22nd September
The feature race on Monday is the John McGuire Handicap of €45,000.
Tuesday 23rd September
Champion Jockey, Oisin Murphy, returns to ride at Listowel.
Also, Presenter, Creator and Franc James founder, former Love Island contestant Frankie Foster, along with the Raceday TV team, will be broadcasting from the Races on both Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
Wednesday 24th September – Kerry Grand National
The racing highlight of the festival is the Guinness Kerry Grand National Handicap Steeplechase of €200,000. Who will follow last year’s winner Flooring Porter?
Thursday 25th September – Sharp Dressed Men. €40,000 worth of gift bags to be given out to all sharp dressed men!
The feature race is the Listowel Races Supporters Club Lartigue Hurdle in memory of John Molyneaux of €60,000. Sharp dressed men get the opportunity to compete in the fashion stakes with the Ryle Menswear Best Dressed Man Competition, hosted by Michael Moran and judged by the ever-dapper Botty O’Callaghan. The winner will receive a custom-made suit worth €1,200, while the runner-up takes home a full Benetti suit, shirt, and tie. This year Ryles have also organized 400 gift bags, worth approximately in total of €40,000 containing luxury ties, socks, cufflinks to be given out to all sharp dressed men on the course.
Friday 26th September – Ladies Day Glamour
Ladies take centre stage on Friday with the McElligotts Kia Best Dressed Lady competition, judged by broadcaster Louise Duffy with fashion designer Shauna Courtney. The prize is the trip of a lifetime for two to New York and there’s also €1,000 for the most creative headpiece and €500 for the most contemporary outfit. The feature race is the William Hill Handicap Hurdle of €100,000. Plus a free double decker bus with welcome drinks and entertainment will run from the Square in Listowel from 12 noon to the Race Course.
Saturday 27th September – Sustainable Style
The feature race is the Charlie Chute Memorial Handicap Steeplechase of €50,000.
Now celebrating it’s 14th year, Listowel celebrates its long-standing commitment to conscious fashion, waste minimisation and the circular economy with the Sustainable Style Competition organised by Listowel Tidy Towns in association An Taisce. Judged by top model Sydney Sargent and Katie Sloane owner of Peach Vintage Clothing and a judge from An Taisce. There are a range of generous cash prizes and gifts sponsored by Listowel Race Company and the businesses of Listowel for both male and female entrants.
