With alternative and less invasive therapies gaining popularity in recent years, we are extremely lucky to have a natural born healer right here on our doorstep in Kerry. Anne Barry comes from generations of natural healers, a very rare gift born within her. With a large clientele based on word of mouth alone, the natural step forward was for Anne to establish a business premises. “Anne Barry Holistic Healing” opened its doors September 1st on New Street in Caherciveen.
Speaking to Anne about her background in healing she said “My maternal grandmother was a natural healer and as a child I use to spend my time with my pets healing them. But it was the day my daughter Haley got diagnosed with epilepsy that my mum told me about her mother and how she healed so many people in her time, she told me I had the same gift, that I should go and do reflexology in order to help Haley. One night Haley had a bad seizure, my heart froze. I remember what mum said to me about having a healing gift so I put my hands on her head and said a prayer and hoped for the best. I started to see bright lights coming out of my hands and into Haley’s head and the seizures stopped. Haley went from 20 seizures a day down to a few a month”.
Anne is a registered reflexologist with IRIL. Services offered include; psychic readings such as angel and tarot cards, reflexology, access bars, hypnosis and reiki. Anne’s hypnotherapy treatment is credited with treating
trauma and addictions whilst helping with weight loss. All appointments are private and can also be accommodated with online readings worldwide. Alongside her private practice, Anne very generously volunteers her time and gift in local hospitals and Recovery Haven, working alongside people suffering with cancer to offer them some comfort in such a traumatic time. Speaking about her volunteer work, Anne told us “I did a lot of volunteer work for hospitals and Recovery Haven, working on amazing cancer patients. I loved it because I really love working with people, it was always my dream to help others where and when I could. So now my daughter is 13 and its time for me to open up and help as much people as I can. This is my journey; I know my daughter has suffered so much with her seizures but if she didn’t have epilepsy who knows what I would be doing with my life. So no matter how hard life is we have to walk that journey and make the best of it”.
