Connect Lifestyle Magazine November 2019 Issue 64

Hi everyone,

It’s definitely winter now, the time has changed the evenings are longer and the fires are burning brightly, but isn’t there something nice about it all, we all love the sunshine and the long evenings but I think we love a little bit of winter too, snuggling up to a cosy fire after a long day at the office, nothing like it.

I just want to say a big thank you to you all for your continued concern for me and all your good wishes, recovery is going well. Speaking of recovery going well we chat to renowned performer Brian Kennedy, recovering and doing really well after his recent illness. He tells Marisa all about it and life as he knows it now.

We also speak with two very progressive family businesses this month,

Martin and Marie Williams of Rock Street Post office tell us the difference in supporting the smaller post offices and the impact it makes to the community it serves, and the stylish mother and daughter that are Frances and Maureen McCarthy of Brush n Blush Hair and Beauty, who tell us how it all began and their passion for hairdressing which has become their life now.

Local Food Hero and Head Chef at the Brehon Hotel Chad Byrne prepares the perfect Christmas Dinner which sounds delicious, I am hoping he delivers on Christmas Day, I could do with it this year..

It’s hard to believe this is the second last issue for the year, where has time gone.. well the year wouldn’t be complete without one last event from the Connect Team and as we speak the crew are busy bees getting the final touches to the Connect Kerry Hospitality Awards hosted this year by another great team at the INEC Killarney, voting is open at the moment until November 10th and we are looking forward to recognising all those who do great work in that industry on Wednesday November 13th. Tickets to the gala award ceremony are now available but moving quickly so contact us today if you haven’t secured yours yet. We will bring you all the action from the night in our next issue and if you can’t wait that long and aren’t lucky enough to be attending we will have regular updates on our social media pages as always so stay tuned to that.

Speaking of awards I am delighted to be attending the Image Business Woman of the Year Award taking place in Dublin on Monday November 25th,

I have been shortlisted for the Entrepreneur of the Year Category, it’s an honour to be shortlisted and take my place beside so many wonderful Business women from all over the county so thank you to everyone who nominated and believed in me and my business. I can’t guarantee I will bring back the title but I will represent the county proud, none of this would be possible without the support of our advertisers, contributors and readers so this is for you all.

Until next month.
