Kerry Culture Night 2025

Culture Night will take place on Friday 19th September, throughout Ireland, and Kerry has a wealth of arts, creativity and culture on offer! Over 50 free events will take place on this ‘One Night for All’. Full details are available on CultureNight.ie/Kerry or on arts.kerrycoco.ie, social media @KerryCoArts.

‘Each year the artists and organisations that participate in Culture Night bring an exciting range of events to the people of Kerry,’ stated Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr. Michael Foley. ‘I encourage everyone to avail of the opportunity to enjoy the wealth of arts and culture we have in Kerry; these are an integral part of life in Kerry’.

To make this wonderful night happen, the Arts Office of Kerry County Council, supported by the Arts Council and Kerry County Council, issued an open call out in May, and by July had awarded over 48 events funding to be part of Culture Night 2025. ‘The quality of submission is a clear reflection of the excellent arts and culture across Kerry’, stated Hannah Pinckheard, Assistant Arts Officer, and Culture Night Coordinator, ‘Events include exhibitions, performances, talks, workshops, comedy, theatre, film, music and much more’.

Some of the highlights to look out for in Killarney include the Aisling Ghobnait performance by MOTHÚ at College Square at 6.30pm and ‘Poetry, Music, Dance and Drag’ at the Government Offices, New Road.

Tralee will be host to 8 events in this year’s programme. Síamsa Tíre will host a variety of events on the night including a screening of Poetry-films – a collaborative project between Kerry Writer in Residence and Filmmaker in Residence, Emer Fallon and Jesse Gilbert. Kerry School of Music will be open with Musicals with L.O.S.T beginning at 6.30pm.

The voices of North Kerry and beyond will be found at ‘Ballybunion Voices: An Evening of Local Culture & Creativity’ in Ballybunion Community Centre and ‘Stories from Around the World’ at the Kerry’s Writers Museum. The night continues in Finuge with The Telling: A night of Music, Murmur & Reckoning at Teach Siamsa.

‘Kerry County Council’s Arts Service has been coordinating Culture Night in Kerry for over fifteen years’, advised Kate Kennelly, Arts Officer, Kerry County Council, ‘and as Culture Night programmed events are free of charge, we encourage people to join us and enjoy this fabulous night!’. ‘Each year brings new elements to the programme, and something for everyone’.
