On Saturday Network Ireland Kerry’s President’s charity lunch was a roaring success with a full house in the Cahernane Hotel, Killarney as a fundraiser for their charity partner for 2024 which is Recovery Haven Kerry. The special guest on the day was designer Don O’Neill who along with his husband Pascal are incredible patrons of Recovery Haven Kerry.
Guests enjoyed a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Muckross Gin and the wonderful music of Lilly Mac Monagle on piano to set a wonderful festive atmosphere. There was a wide array of fantastic spot prizes on the day, as the committee of Network Ireland Kerry wanted to fundraise as much as possible for Recovery Haven Kerry. The event was opened by Eimear Mc Donnell, of Match Marketing, who was MC on the day and Kerry President Linda O’Mahony Logan welcomed all the guests. Marissa Reidy of Recovery Haven Kerry shared with the guests the free services they provide to those journeying cancer and their families and how each year they need to raise approx. €250k.
Network Ireland national were well represented with incoming 2025 President and Vice President, Amy O’Sullivan, and Joan Walsh, joining the event to share the exciting plans for the year ahead for the organisation.
Guest speaker Don O’Neill generously donated a beautiful illustration of one of his designs to the spot prizes. Don candidly shared the story of losing his beloved Mother to cancer and how he has seen over the years the positive impact that Recovery Haven Kerry makes to those who have cancer and those who support them. Don reminded everyone in the room to lead with kindness and that their best style asset is their smile.
Young musicians Clodagh and Daire Mc Carthy entertained the guests by playing concertino and button accordion to fantastic applause.
The afternoon was a roaring success, with guests giving generously to Recovery Haven Kerry and all enjoying the fun and festivities of the event.
