Tips on Choosing the Perfect Wedding Suit

• When picking out your suit for the big day you should be
shopping anywhere from 3-6 months before the wedding. This gives ample time for your groomsmen, father of the bride/father of the groom and other members of your wedding party time to get measured also.

• Give yourself some time in the shop you visit. Try more that 1 suit! Make sure it’s comfortable as you will be wearing it for the day.

• There are lots of different options to differentiate the groom from his groomsmen. Different colour ties work, different style
waistcoats are also an option. Change one of these two and keep the lads in the same suits. It look good in photos.

• Choose a suit with some quality. A decent suit will cost between €300- €550 and is well worth spending some extra money on. A cheap suit will look cheap and wrinkle easy. This is especially noticeable when a groom will be sitting and getting in and out of a car for the wedding day.

• Make sure that all the lads in the wedding party wear similar colour shoes. If the groom chooses a brown shoe, make sure the rest of the lads have the same if not something very similar. If the groom chooses a black shoe, make sure the rest of the lads have the same colour shoe. It doesn’t look the best if some of the lads start mixing colour shoes on the day.

• Suits can be spruced up quite a bit with accessories. Cuff links, tie pins, hankies matching ties and belts all work to accessories the suits. However one or two above will work and looks the best, not all of the above.

• Arrange to collect the suits for everyone 5-7 days before the wedding day. This gives the lads time to try each outfit on and
time to change something if it doesn’t fit. Ideally the shop should have you in to try the suits for a second time, and if something doesn’t fit you can change it their and then at the shop.

• Ask your shop for a deal on your suits. If your buying 4/5 suits usually a discount will be provided. Formal wear shops usually sell and rent wedding suits so maybe a mix of both can save a few euros.
