Colin Horgan explores the interruption of new processes for his Spring/Summer 2023 collection ‘Imposed Faction’
It began with iterations of shapes that were self combusting and destructive. By glitching and corrupting forms it is navigated by the relationship between the clothes and the wearer presenting a distorted ‘stand by’ silhouette.
Compressing three dimensional saddle pocket surface detail, endless strap ends and buckle fastens embellish a radical Neo luxury approach. Shots of lilac are head on against explosive pink shades alarmed by azure and deep denims. Twin needle stitching in white track around tailoring and outerwear. Binding harnesses strap around hunting jackets with reworked vents and storm flaps. A galactic black offsets the alkaline pinks and reds.
Imposed Faction centres on the enduring craftsmanship now so firmly associated with the Colin Horgan brand – By exhausting and expiring a form, a new energy ignites and prevails . By Faction, by default.
Colin Horgan graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2017 MA Fashion Womenswear where he closed the show with his celebrated debut collection “Brisk”.
Now in his 5th season presenting on schedule at London Fashion Week, Colin blends his roots in music and subculture into a refined
and masterful NEO-luxury collection.
Colin’s clinical execution of fitted tailoring and outerwear delves into a hyper sensational silhouette, extorting and manipulating harness strapping with sculptural effect. 3D Pannier pockets, exaggerated A-line flare panels create a signature collection topography.
Colin Horgan is worn by artists including Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Kehlani, Tolu Makay, Chaelin CL, Brooke Candy, Tierra Whack, Ashnikko
Irish born, Kerry native, Horgan takes inspiration from strength in women in his family and juxtaposes them with surreal women that
inspired him through his early youth.
