New Camp Business Flexes Muscles With State Of The Art Gym

The wonderful people at Sandy Feet Farm in Ardfert have come up with an innovative way to combat the seasonal ebbs and flows of their pet-farm business-model by introducing an exciting new string to their bow. Sandy Feet Fitness, an airy, well-equipped gym opened its doors on September 10th. and will stay open all year round. The facility is situated within the grounds of the farm at Cappaclogh, East Camp. Locals and visitors alike can come and enjoy any number of activities and classes, meet friends and improve their fitness levels, all under the expert supervision of Angela O Mahony, a Sports Development graduate from the Institute of Technology in Tralee. Angela spoke to Connect about membership, classes and operating under the Covid restrictions.

“We offer a tailored membership package for €50 a month. That allows for unlimited access to the gym. Classes are extra. Because of current restrictions, people book their session through our online booking system @legitfit.com. This means that when you turn up, you know it’s safe and everyone is socially distanced.”

“So far, feedback has been very positive and business has been brisk. There is a caravan park on site which opens from March through to September. We think holiday-makers will really enjoy using the gym too. Later on we hope to introduce Yoga and Pilates, more mindful and wellness sorts of activates too.”

Access is not solely restricted to members. They also offer a pay-as-you-go option. Their weekly timetable features a comprehensive suite of classes including Tabatha, a 4 minute intensive training session that works by using the 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off principle, Body Blitz, Boot Camp and Functional Strength.
