Tralee Chamber Announces Chief Executive Succession Plan

Tralee Chamber Alliance, the voice of business throughout the region, announced today that Chief Executive Ken Tobin will be stepping down as planned this September from his role. The Board of Directors want to sincerely thank Ken for his support and significant contribution since taking on the role for a three-year term in February 2018.

The Board are now leading a process to identify a suitable candidate for Chief Executive who will offer the capabilities and capacity to continue the work undertaken by Ken over the past number of years. An appointment is anticipated to be made in the coming weeks.

Kevin McCarthy, President of Tralee Chamber said “Ken has shown the leadership that the business community of Kerry has needed, in particular over the past eighteen months. We can say with certainty, that if it was not for his hard-work and support, businesses in Kerry would have been in a far worse position from the pandemic.

The Chamber is much stronger today, than when he joined. The leadership he has shown has been a huge factor in making Tralee Chamber the largest business organisation in Kerry. On a personal note, I also want to thank Ken for helping to bring so many people together, the new Directors and Steering Group who are part of the Chambers structure add significant strength to the organisation to support its continued growth.”

Ken Tobin, outgoing CE of Tralee Chamber said “I am incredibly proud of the team in Tralee Chamber and what we have accomplished in the past number of years, but particularly during the Covid19 pandemic. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside so many talented and dedicated people who all have the best interest of Tralee in mind. I have no doubt that with the strong position Tralee Chamber is in, that it will grow from strength to strength. I want to thank the Steering Group and the Board of Tralee Chamber for the support they have shown me in my time as Chief Executive.”
