4 steps to choosing your Christmas Party location!

With December providing some of the biggest dates in the social calendar, the Christmas parties are no exception. For management, booking the location and style of party can be quite a daunting task. As the saying goes ‘You can’t suit everyone all of the time’ but with careful well thought out planning you can avoid some of the biggest headaches.

1. Staff Size; Whether you are a small local business or a factory with a couple of hundred on the payroll, knowing your numbers and identifying which locations can cater for your given size is the first step. For smaller numbers I would recommend a restaurant such as Sforno in Tralee. The ambience is relaxed but intimate, allowing conversation to flow easily amongst all seated at the table. With a stunning menu on offer there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

2. Budget; recognising your budget early on is vital. Being careful to not over committing your business expense account will allow you to relax and enjoy it yourself! From treating your staff to an elegant fine dining experience at Croi to casual drinks afterwards down town, knowing your financial limits is a must. Don’t be afraid to reach out to businesses and work together with their event manager to create a tailor made Christmas party too? O’ Sheas Bar and Restaurant in Banna is a newly refurbished and designed facility. With plenty of space, a stunning location they can offer a bespoke experience for your party.

3. Booking Early; booking as early in the year as possible is vitally important as some of the more popular places tend to book up quite fast. Some hotels will host themed nights where they can cater to a couple of hundred, providing live music as a much needed bonus. These types of Christmas parties tend to be very popular and book out super quick so early booking is essential to avoiding disappointment

4. Location; This is probably the most important part of the planning. Is there much point booking a night in a hotel so far away that your staff cannot afford a taxi home and are faced with the option of an expensive hotel room or miss out altogether? Taking O’ Donnells in Mounthawk for example. Situated on the outskirts of Tralee it is in a prime location. Big enough to cater to large numbers with ample parking and close proximity to the town centre makes it a perfect choice to suit all

Following these 4 simple steps will ensure your party plans go as smoothly as possible. Be sure to pick up Connect November edition where we will feature Christmas party offers from around the county.
